Al Kirton is a Senior Managing Director and Head of Capital Markets at CAVU Securities (a Veteran & Minority owned and operated firm). At CAVU, Al is responsible for relationship management and business development efforts with corporations, including bond underwriting, initial public offerings, share repurchases, economic strategy, and credit analysis.
Prior to working in the financial services industry, Al served as a commissioned officer in the United States Marine Corps. During his eight years of active-duty service, he deployed twice to Iraq in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom as a Company Commander and Convoy Commander, where he earned the Defense Meritorious Service Medal as well as the Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal for exceptionally meritorious service in combat.
Al currently serves as a Board Member of Charlotte Lab School, a top-rated K-12 public charter school and Foundation for Women Warriors. Al actively supports veterans through volunteer work with various organization as well as the U.S. Naval Academy and serves on the Steering Committee for Veterans on Wall Street’s Charlotte Chapter.
Al is a graduate of the United States Naval Academy in Annapolis, Maryland and received an MBA from the University of Michigan Ross School of Business.
