MajGen Austin Renforth Ret.

Major General Austin Renforth (Ret.) is currently a Senior Advisor at Roberts & Ryan and a veteran of the United States Marine Corps. Over the course of his 40-year military career MajGen Renforth has held a variety of leadership and command positions.

Major General Renforth has had the privilege of command at every level. He served as a Rifle Platoon, Heavy Machinegun Platoon, and Dragon Platoon Commander at 1st Battalion, 2nd Marines, participating in Operation DESERT SHIELD/STORM. He also served as a Platoon Commander at 2nd Light Armored Infantry Battalion and deployed as a Detachment Commander with 2nd Battalion, 2nd Marines in support of Operation Provide Promise. MajGen Renforth commanded rifle companies at 1st Battalion, 2nd Marines and 2nd Battalion, 6th Marines. At the battalion level, he commanded the Maritime Special Purpose Force while deployed with the 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit.

Later, he commanded 2nd Light Armored Reconnaissance Battalion and deployed twice in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom. He later assumed command of 7th Marine Regiment and deployed in support of Operation Enduring Freedom. Afterwards, he was Commanding General of Training Command, and then Commanding General of Marine Corps Recruit Depot Parris Island and Eastern Recruiting Region. He again deployed to Iraq as the Commanding General of Task Force Iraq in support of Operation Inherent Resolve.

Most recently MajGen Renforth was the Commanding General of the Marine Corps Air Ground Combat Center and the Marine Corps Air Ground Training Command.

MajGen Renforth’s staff assignments include tours as Protocol Officer, US Central Command; Operations Officer 2nd Battalion, 6th Marines; Faculty Advisor, Amphibious Warfare School; Executive Officer, 2nd Battalion, 4th Marines and deployed to Okinawa, Japan; Operations Officer, 5th Marines; Operations Officer, Regimental Combat Team 1 and deployed in support of Operation IRAQI FREEDOM in Fallujah; Branch Chief, Special Plans Branch, J-5, US Northern Command; and Chief of Staff, 1st Marine Division. Additionally, MajGen Renforth served as the Chief of Staff NORAD and USNORTHCOM in Colorado Springs.

MajGen Renforth received a Bachelor of Science degree in Mathematics from the U.S. Naval Academy, a Master of Science degree in Management from Troy State University, and is a graduate of The Basic School, the Infantry Officer Course, Amphibious Warfare School, Armed Forces Staff College, NATO Defense College in Rome, Italy, and the High Command and Staff Course in the United Kingdom.

MajGen Renforth was a member of the Marine Corps Rugby Team, has worked as the Head Coach for the Naval Academy Sprint Football Team, and as an assistant coach for the Navy Division 1 Men’s Rugby Team.

    Meet Major General Marcia Anderson. In 2011, Ander Meet Major General Marcia Anderson. In 2011, Anderson became the first African American woman in the United States Army’s history to achieve the rank of Major General in the United States Army Reserve. Her last two assignments before her retirement were Deputy Commanding General, U.S. Army Human Resources Command and Deputy Chief, U.S. Army Reserve. In this role, Anderson, had oversight for the planning, programming and resource management for the execution of an Army Reserve budget of $8 billion that supported over 225,000 Army Reserve Soldiers, civilians and their families.

    The Women’s Bureau of the U.S. Department of Lab The Women’s Bureau of the U.S. Department of Labor reported the median childcare price for a family with one child ranged from $4,810 to $15,417 in 2018.  Today, childcare costs continue to increase significantly. An infant enrolled in licensed childcare in San Diego costs an average of $19,000, a price tag more costly than in-state college tuition.

According to the San Diego Foundation Workforce, Childcare & Change Report, Californian’s pay 26% higher than the national average for childcare, and San Diego is 15% higher than the state average. For many, this reality threatens not only their financial stability, but potentially their employment.

    Meet Joy Allen. Allen serves as Deputy Department Meet Joy Allen. Allen serves as Deputy Department Head for Naval Surface Warfare Center (NSWC) Corona Division’s Performance Assessment Department, which serves as the independent analysis and assessment agent across several warfare areas including Air Defense, Integrated Air and Missile Defense, Surface, Strike, and, Cyber. 
 
The department's expertise is utilized across unit level, multi-ship, and strike group compositions, and she ensures everything runs smoothly and assists with daily, high-level operations that are critical to warfighter success and combat capability.

The 6888th Central Postal Directory Battalion, known as the Six Triple Eight, was the only all-black female battalion to serve in Europe during WWII. Confronted with racism and sexism from their own leadership and troops, they cleared a backlog of over 17 million pieces of mail. The 6888th ensured troops stayed in touch with their loved ones back home. President Biden signed into law on March 14th, 2022, a Congressional Gold Medal to recognize the women of the 6888th.
