
Chris is the Director of Labor Relations and Wellness for Southern California Gas Company (SoCalGas) with over 20 years’ experience in roles of increasing responsibility in all aspects of human resources, labor relations, diversity and inclusion in a variety of environments, from leading U.S law firms counseling Fortune 500 companies, to in-house counsel positions, to his current human resources leadership role.
Headquartered in Los Angeles, SoCalGas is the largest natural gas distribution utility in the United States. SoCalGas is a subsidiary of Sempra Energy, a Fortune 500 company, based in San Diego, California. Sempra is the parent company to SoCalGas, San Diego Gas & Electric, Sempra Infrastructure and Oncor Electric Delivery Company. Chris was formerly the Assistant General Counsel for Regulatory Law for SoCalGas. Prior to that role, Chris was Senior Counsel for Labor and Employment with Sempra Energy. Before joining Sempra, Chris was a senior associate in the Los Angeles office of Paul Hastings LLP, specializing in employment litigation (including class action and complex wage/hour litigation) traditional labor law, and advice and counsel to employers in a variety of industries.
Chris is a graduate of Hofstra University (B.A. 1994) and Northeastern University School of Law (J.D. 1999). He is admitted to practice in federal and state court in California, Massachusetts and Maine. He is also admitted to practice before the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals. He also served in the U.S. Army Reserves and New York Army National Guard.
Chris holds a certification as a Senior Certified Professional (SCP) through the Society for Human Resources Professionals (SHRM).
