Karen is a U.S. Air Force veteran who served as a Dietetic Technician in the 1980s. Having experienced struggles with finding employment and housing as a single-parent and transitioning veteran, she believes in the mission of FFWW with her whole heart.
Karen began her career with Accenture in January 2019 and is currently a Strategic Programs Specialist/Consultant working in Environmental Social Governance (ESG). She has a passion for veteran advocacy and extensive experience in building and leading programs dedicated to serving the military community. She serves on Accenture’s National Military Employee Resource Group (MERG) Communications team, is a Corporate Citizenship Relationship Manager, women veterans mentor, and persons with disabilities champion. Karen is also a writer and publishes articles on inclusion and diversity topics that reach a national audience.
Before joining Accenture, Karen worked in strategic communications at UC Riverside where she founded the faculty and staff Veterans, Military Members and Families Group, a program she directed for over 7 years. Karen holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Management from the University of Redlands where she was elected a Fellow of the Whitehead Leadership Society. She has also studied Public Administration at the University of Southern California Sol Price School of Public Policy.
