
Theresa Karle is a corporate lawyer specializing in communications law and has worked over 30 years with the ABC News Division advising clients, such as 20/20, Good Morning America and ABC News.com, on libel, privacy, intellectual property, newsgathering and access matters. She also advises the View, the Chew, WPVI-TV in Philadelphia and ESPN Radio on content, sweepstakes and regulatory issues.
Prior to joining ABC, Theresa was an associate at Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher and, before that, clerked for Judge Thomas M. Reavley of the United States Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit in Austin, Texas. She received her undergraduate degree from the University of California, Los Angeles and her J.D. from Hastings College of the Law.
Theresa also provides pro bono legal service on adoption matters through the Kinship Caregiver Law Project at Mobilization for Justice in New York. She enjoys running and has participated in many charity runs to fundraise for various organizations, including the Foundation for Women Warriors, the Trevor Project, Girls Who Code, Kids In Need of Defense and the National Forest Foundation.
