Darcey, an Air Force veteran, had done her best to hide it from her family, but she was stressed. Darcey had been able to keep the family’s finances stable while her spouse was placed on medical leave but when they had to begin pulling from their savings, she knew the family would eventually need additional support.
Hesitant to ask for help, Darcey reached out to her trusted VA coordinator and asked for potential resources to help bridge the disruption in her family’s income. The VA coordinator connected Darcey to our programs team who walked her through our financial assistance application and immediately scheduled her for a distribution pick-up.
Within minutes after walking out of our warehouse with essentials, hygiene products, pull-ups, cleaning supplies, children’s clothes, and even a few toys for her daughter Olivia, Darcey messaged our team:
“This all brought tears to our eyes… Thank you so much! You have no idea how much this helps us!”
The essentials Darcey received from our warehouse allowed her family to reallocate earning towards utilities while our financial assistance program ensured her family’s housing costs were bridged during this time.
