For the fourth year in a row and with more than a little help from the elves in our community, our 2024 Holiday Distributions were a success!
At our Vista Warehouse, trees decorated with bows and beads, garland hung from end to end, and even a cozy holiday hearth, welcomed our women veterans and their families as they joined us for an afternoon of reindeer games and left with bags stuffed to the brim with gifts for their little ones. At our Los Angeles Distribution, our military families were greeted with winter wonderland crafts at the Columbia Memorial Space Center where they had the opportunity to explore after packing heaping holiday gift bags into their four-wheeled sleighs. This December marked four years of spreading joy through our Holiday Distributions, totaling over 500 families served since 2020.
In addition to our individual volunteers who contributed to our success by packing bags, decorating our warehouse, and hosting festivities on distribution day, we owe our gratitude to our amazing partners and sponsors.
Thank you Home Depot and SoCalGas for yet another year of support, prepping our warehouse and spreading holiday cheer volunteering at our distributions. To Verizon, we owe a great thank you for creating handmade holiday cards for our women veterans and their families. We also want to extend a thank you to Grand Canyon University for sponsoring the afternoon snacks for our families and for providing information on their educational programming available to women veterans.
Finally, we are so grateful for the generous support of the True North Foundation of CAVU Securities, Associated General Contractors San Diego, Friends of Children United Society, MSE Landscape Professionals, our local Daughters of the American Revolution Chapters, Rancho Bernardo Republican Women, and Jenni Kayne, for stocking our warehouse with gifts for each of our women veterans’ children.
Because of the commitment of our community, our 2024 Holiday Drive and Distributions were a festive success! Thank you to all who helped us spread just a bit of holiday cheer for our women veterans and their families.
